TAMPA, Fla. — USL League One announced on Monday that Richmond Kickers’ forward Emiliano Terzaghi was named to the Cleer Audio Team of the Week for Week 30 after the newly-minted back-to-back Golden Boot winner notched an equalizer at FC Tucson.
Terzaghi earns his eighth recognition of the season from the league after previously being named to the Cleer Audio Team of the Week for weeks 5, 17, 19, 25, 26, and 28 as well as earning Cleer Audio Player of the Week honors for week 13.
Down 2-1 at the half, Terzaghi was critical in providing an equalizer for the Reds in the desert.
Terzaghi danced into the box in the 49th minute as he dribbled past his defender and the goalkeeper who came off his line. With a seemingly open net in front of him, the Argentine was taken down before he could shoot the ball and the referee called for a penalty.
Without hesitation, he got up and placed the ball at the spot, and waited for the referee to signal. Terzaghi calmly sent the goalkeeper in the other direction as he guided the ball into the back of the net.
Terzaghi finished the match with six shots and two on target while winning the majority of his duels and winning a team-high four fouls.
Terzaghi and his teammates are on the road at FC Tucson for the quarterfinals of the USL League One Playoffs presented by TwinSpires. The match marks the first playoff match for the Kickers since the 2016 season. Kickoff at Kino North Stadium in Tucson, Ariz. on Saturday, November 6 is set for 10:00 p.m. EST.
