COLLEGE GUIDANCE PROGRAM

Members of the Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club who desire to play collegiate soccer have the opportunity to be guided by the Richmond Kickers Professional Assistant Coach and Richmond Kickers Destiny (W-League) Head Coach, Jesse Myers.  Coach Myers, who has been a college or professional coach for 16 years, has developed a program to introduce sophomores, juniors, and seniors in High School to the college recruiting process. His comprehensive program (3 sessions) includes powerpoint presentations and individual meetings for players/families interested in  the college recruiting process.

RKYSC players interested in receiving college guidance may contact Jesse Myers at 804-644-5425 ext 306 or by e-mail at jmyers@richmondkickers.com.

A MUST READ ARTICLE FOR ALL FUTURE COLLEGIANS
by Jamie Trecker - March 2nd, 2006
It occurred to me the other day that while the subject of recruiting is well covered with regard to other American sports, it's hardly ever discussed in soccer.

So how do parents and players find out about the process? What are the questions that should be asked? Are those "recruiting services" that fill your mailboxes worth your time and money?

The answers I got from two experienced coaches at college women's Division One programs — about combines, video tapes, the aforementioned services — might surprise you. The biggest surprise however was discovering that more of the onus falls on the players than they know.
