Richmond, VA – (Tuesday, December 11th, 2007) –The Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club is excited to announce that Elizabeth Weast (Lizzie), a current U14 Girls Elite player has been selected to the Super Y League U13 Girls All-League Team. Lizzie, an 8th Grader who is currently attending Bailey Bridge Middle School is just one of 16 players honored out of approximately 240 girls who were eligible for the selection!
Selections to the team were based off the nominations of opposing coaches made throughout tournament play. All players selected to the list are automatically eligible to attend the Super Y-League ODP National Camps beginning Thursday, January 10 in Cocoa, Florida.
Coach Rob Ukrop comments, "Lizzie was a consistent performer throughout the Super Y season. She lifted her game at Nationals, creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities with her quickness and crisp passing, helping lead the team to two victories. Her selection to the All-League team is well-deserved, and a tribute to her work ethic and her unselfish team-first attitude.”
The U13 Girls Super Y team qualified for nationals by taking 1st place in the B bracket of the South Atlantic Division of the league. Lizzie played a team role in their success by playing in every game over the season.
