TWO RICHMOND KICKERS SELECTED TO USYSA REGION I TEAMRICHMOND, VA – (Friday, September 15, 2006) - The Richmond Kickers would like to congratulate Chris Maimone and Ashley Riefner for being selected to the 2006 USYSA Region I ODP Team. The Olympic Development Program is one of the nation’s best ways for identifying talent across the country. The Region I team consists of the best players in the Northeast from Virginia to Maine. These players then have the opportunity to play with the best players in the United States and compete for a spot on the US Youth National Team.
Chris Maimone is currently a member of the U17 Richmond Kickers Elite. This local product was the only Virginian selected to the 1990 Boys Region I Team.
Ashley Riefner is currently a member of the U13 Richmond Kickers Elite. She was one of nine Virginians to make the 1993 Girls Region I Team.
Once again, the Richmond Kickers would like to applaud both Chris and Ashley for this great accomplishment.
