KICKERS MOURN THE LOSS OF KOFI NTI
Donations for the club's beloved coach will be collected at GoFundMe.com/kofi-nti

RICHMOND, VA - (Monday, March 27, 2017) – The Richmond Kickers are devastated to announce the sudden passing of beloved youth coach and former Kickers pro player, Kofi Nti.

Nti was involved across all levels of the club, from the rec program to the professional team, for 12 years.  Coaching hundreds of youth players of all ages for more than a decade, he most recently acted as head coach of the Kickers U12 Boys South, U12 Boys Elite and U13 Boys Elite teams.

Nti spent two years with the Richmond Kickers professional team, making 18 appearances and earning a league title with the 2006 USL Championship team.  A native of Accra, Ghana, he joined the Kickers prior to the 2005 season after spending three seasons with FC Nania of the Ghana First Division.  During his tenure with FC Nania, he led the team to be promoted to the Ghanaian First Division league, captaining the team for two seasons.  Additionally, Nti led the University of Ghana soccer team to win the University League in 1999 and later led the same team to win the first West African University games in 2001.

Donations to assist the transport of his remains to his family in Ghana can be made at GoFundMe.com/kofi-nti.  His legacy will be honored at the next Richmond Kickers pro home game on Saturday, April 8 at City Stadium.
